Announcing New JSAH Editors for 2025-27

SAH is pleased to announce the appointment of two new editors to the Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians (JSAH).

Alfredo Thiermann, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, has been named Multimedia Review Editor. He will play an essential role in keeping JSAH readers abreast of new scholarship by commissioning and editing reviews of materials and topics related to multimedia that are appropriate for coverage in JSAH. Thiermann will will assume a three-year term for twelve quarterly issues, from the March 2025 to the December 2027 issues.

Amy Jo Woodruff, has agreed to serve as the Managing Editor for JSAH. She will work closely with JSAH Editor Alice Tseng, the University of California Press (UCP), SAH staff, and authors and editors to produce each quarterly issue of the Journal in a timely manner. Woodruff will transition into the role this March, in preparation of the June 2025 issue.

Published since 1941, JSAH is widely recognized as a leading English-language journal on history of the built environment. Published four times per year, each issue offers four to five scholarly articles on topics from all periods of history and all parts of the world, reviews of recent books, exhibitions, films, and other media, and a variety of editorials and opinion pieces designed to place the discipline of architectural history within a larger intellectual context. 

Published both in print and online, JSAH represents the next generation of scholarly communication, utilizing a wide variety of enriched multimedia content to bring topics to life for those interested in the history of architecture, landscape architecture, and urbanism.
