Call for Book Chapter abstracts: Diversity and Inclusion in Crisis Prevention, Recovery and Community Resilience

SAH members are invited to submit an abstract to be considered for a chapter contribution for the proposed edited book: "Diversity and Inclusion in Crisis Prevention, Recovery and Community Resilience." This book aims to discuss inclusion and diversity considering a wider spectrum, extending beyond traditional gendered discussions to include vulnerable groups like seniors or children, girls and pregnant women, single parents, ethnic minorities, indigenous peoples, migrants, refugees, and often-overlooked topics such as masculinities and the experiences and challenges of non-binary individuals, including the LGBTIQ+ community, other underrepresented individuals and groups in preventing and responding to crises as well as seeking community development and building resilience.

Scope:

We welcome abstracts that include, but not limited, to the following themes:

  • Understanding Risks and Vulnerabilities: Beyond Normative Groups
  • Responding to Crises: Challenging Exclusion and Discrimination
  • Building Resilience: Towards inclusion and diversity approaches
