The International Seminar on Urban Form (ISUF) (https://urbanform.org/) is a leading academic organization that has united scholars and research groups focused on the form of the city for thirty years. ISUF connects researchers and practitioners across disciplines, including geography, urban planning, architecture, history, anthropology, and urban design. Our global network fosters projects that explore urban form theory and specific studies on various settlement types, from neighborhoods to regions, and from historic villages to 21st-century mega cities.

Each year, ISUF promotes an international conference to significantly contribute to the development of Urban Morphology as a discipline. 

 

Call for Abstracts

ISUF invites abstracts for its 2025 International Seminar on Urban Form. The 32nd edition will be held in Torino, Italy. View the complete call at https://www.isuf2025.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/ISUF_2025_Call%20for%20Abstract_Torino.pdf 

The deadline to submit abstracts is February 3rd, 2025. Applicants will receive a response regarding the acceptance of their proposals by March 10th.

Abstracts must be written in English, with a word limit of 300 words. A template will be provided on the ISUF 2025 website.

To submit an abstract with a contribution proposal, please choose one of the following topics:

  1. SHAPING THE CITY: Exploring Future Urban Forms
  2. MAPPING THE CITY: Evolving Tools to Study Urban Forms
  3. ENVISIONING THE CITY: Enhancing Theoretical Models of Urban Forms
  4. AI APPLICATIONS ON URBAN FORMS: City as a Device (Agents & Experiments)

Detailed descriptions of each theme are provided in the Call, linked above. Applicants may submit more than one abstract for review. The abstracts will be peer-reviewed, and to facilitate the blind review process, individual authors and institutions should not be identified in the body of the abstract. 

Abstracts should be submitted through the SYMPOSIUM platform via the link provided on the ISUF 2025 website: https://www.isuf2025.org/submission/. Registrations will also be managed through the SYMPOSIUM platform. Detailed information on registration fees is available on the SYMPOSIUM platform.
