Clara is launching a call for contributions for her Archives section as well as for her new section entitled Position(s) . This is a permanent call for contributions : authors can submit a proposal at any time. However, for publication in issue 12 (2026), authors are invited to submit an abstract before January 12, 2025.

Clara is an annual scientific journal dedicated to topics, questions, research methods and tools specific to the field of architecture. Each issue is composed of a thematic dossier subject to a separate call for contributions, and two additional sections: Archives and Position(s).

The articles in the Archives section are dedicated to the exploration, valorization and/or problematization of an archive collection. These articles are an opportunity to discover little-known documentary resources, to shed light on the genesis of architectural projects documented there, but also to address the new challenges encountered by contemporary archive collections (preservation, digitalization, decolonization, etc.). The articles published in this section are max. 50,000 characters/8,000 words (including spaces, notes, bibliography and captions). They are peer-reviewed in a double-blind manner, in order to verify their originality, the adequacy of the research methods adopted, the relevance of the subject and conclusions, their structure and readability.

The Position(s) section contains short articles that articulate a position in relation to current architectural events. Contributions may take the form of a manifesto text, a book review, an exhibition report or a story of a teaching experience. The format is limited to a maximum of 25,000 characters/4,000 words (including spaces, notes, bibliography and captions). The articles in this section are not peer-reviewed but internally by the editorial board.

Researchers interested in submitting a contribution for the Archives or Position(s) sections are invited to send an abstract (400 words) and a short biography to Clara's editorial board: clara.archi[at] ulb.be.
