The Winterthur Research Fellowship Program is delighted to announce it is accepting applicants for the 2025–2026 cohort, offering financial support to scholars at all stages of their careers through short-term, maker-creator, dissertation, and postdoctoral awards.
We are pleased to announce our new partnership with the American Trust for the British Library Research Fellowship Program, offering opportunities to work at Winterthur and within the British Library’s collections. Maker-Creator Fellowships also enable artists and creatives from a breadth of artistic practices to find new inspiration for their work.
These fellowships give researchers unparalleled access to an independent research library and museum whose collections encourage understanding of the Americas in a global context from the 17th to the 20th centuries, complemented by conservation labs, and set in a 1,000-acre estate of preserved meadows and farmland with a world-class naturalistic garden. Read more about our recent fellows’ projects and see how our collections and community are supporting a broad range of scholarly and creative work.
Academic Programs staff are available to talk about project feasibility and the application process for the best outcomes for research at Winterthur. Please contact us with your questions or to inquire about your research interests.
We particularly encourage applications that bring new and critical scholarly approaches to the library, museum, and garden collections. Applications are due January 15, 2025.
