The Giles Worsley Rome Fellowship: Open to architectural historians and architects in an early and/or transformative stage of their careers, whose research in the field of architectural or urban history would benefit from the opportunity to spend three
months at the British School at Rome experiencing the reality of buildings and spaces in and around Rome related to their subject of study. The fellowship offers room and board at the BSR for three months and a monthly stipend.
The Robert Adam Rome Scholarship in Architecture: Awarded to an architect or scholar to study the tradition and evolution of classical architecture in Rome and Italy, which could include associated urban form. The successful candidate will spend three
months at the BSR undertaking a self-directed programme of research; the scholarship offers room and board at the BSR and a monthly stipend.
The Rome Scholarship in Architecture: Awarded to a student with a post-graduate degree in architecture and/or an early career architect who has shown exceptional promise in their student work or early career. The successful candidate will spend three
months at the BSR undertaking a self-directed programme of research; the scholarship offers room and board at the BSR and a monthly stipend.
The Jill Franklin Fellowship in Romanesque Architectural History: Thanks to the generosity of Bob Allies, the British School at Rome is delighted to announce its collaboration with the British Archaeological Association to offer a new fellowship in Romanesque
architectural history. The fellowship is tenable for one month (the first award will be for June 2025) and provides for board and lodging at the BSR and a small stipend. Applications are assessed by the British Archaeological Association, and are
to be sent as email attachments to secretary@thebaa.org All applicants should provide a research proposal, a short CV (no more than one page A4) and the name and contact details of a referee. The closing date
for applications is 31 December, 2024.

Rome Fellowships (for nine months) and Rome Awards (for three months): These fellowships are normally offered to early career scholars and are for research on any aspect of the social, religious, political and economic cultures of the Italian peninsula
and their wider textual, visual, and material dissemination from early prehistory to the modern period. Candidates may apply for both nine-month and three-month opportunities, but must submit a separate application for each.
Balsdon and Hugh Last Fellowships (for three months): These fellowships are open to established scholars in post in a UK university. The Balsdon Fellowship is offered for research on any aspect of the social, religious, political, and economic cultures
of the Italian peninsula, and their wider textual, visual, and material dissemination and reception from early prehistory to the modern period. The Hugh Last Fellowship is offered for research on classical antiquity (excluding archaeological fieldwork
and work on Roman Britain). Only one application is required; eligible candidates will be considered for both fellowships.
