Join the Benjamin Marshall Society and the city of Chicago for the unveiling sign ceremony of "Honorary Benjamin Marshall Way" on East Lake Shore Drive, followed by a ticketed reception in the Gold Coast Room of Marshall's Drake Hotel on the occasion of Marshall's 150th anniversary!
The unveiling ceremony by Honorable Alderman Brian Hopkins will take place at 5:30 p.m. on the corner of East Lake Shore Drive and Michigan Avenue, in tribute to Benjamin Marshall, the visionary architect behind East Lake Shore Drive and the Gold Coast. The ceremony will be filmed for an expansion of the existing Marshall documentary.
A lively and joyful celebratory reception at 6:30 p.m. for a cocktail toast, passed hors d'oeuvres and music will follow in the Gold Coast Room of the Drake Hotel
Come One and All as together we honor this extraordinary architect who did so much to make Chicago into the great city we love today. In tribute to Ben, let's lift a glass with friends and neighbors in a setting designed by the great architect himself.
