Marietta is a vibrant, historic city about twenty miles north of downtown Atlanta. The sessions and other events will be at the Department of Architecture, College of Architecture and Construction Management at Kennesaw State University, Marietta Campus. The Department and College will serve as the local hosts. There will be a SESAH block of rooms with the nightly rate of $189.00 at the nearby Marietta Hilton Hotel and Conference Center. We will have regular shuttles between the campus and the hotel.

There will be a plethora of activities throughout the meeting to showcase the downtown area including a walking tour of downtown Marietta, a reception at the D.K. Gallery, and an opportunity to see many historic sites in and around Marietta. Formerly the home of Southern Polytechnic State University that merged with KSU in 2015, the Marietta campus of KSU is a mid- to late-twentieth-century campus with award-winning architecture including the 2002 Architecture Building designed by Heery International that one design excellence awards from the American Institute of Architects and the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The SESAH Board Meeting and dinner will be held on Wednesday, October 2 at the Georgia Tech Library in the Dorothy M. Crosland Tower in nearby Midtown Atlanta. The sessions will begin Thursday morning and continue through Friday afternoon at the KSU campus. Mark C. McDonald, former president and CEO of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and editor of the Architecture of the Last Colony: Georgia’s Historic Places, 1733-2000 (2023), will give the keynote address on Thursday evening. The Awards Ceremony and Business Lunch Meeting (all members welcome) will be held on Friday. The study tour will begin early on Saturday morning, October 5 and include historic and architecturally significant places around the Atlanta area.
