The Society of Architectural Historians is pleased to announce the appointment of Meral Ekincioglu as associate editor of SAHARA,
SAH's digital image archive.
As a research scholar, she has conducted her Ph.D. dissertation research at Harvard and Columbia universities, and her advanced academic research at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has also developed architecture program curricula for Yeditepe and Medipol universities in Istanbul.
Her application expressed great enthusiasm for the role and demonstrated her considerable knowledge of content development and curation for large digital collections. To date, she has contributed more than 800 architectural and interior photographs to
SAHARA and has served as a guest editor. She is also an active member of SAH's Historic Interiors Affiliate Group.
Meral holds PhD, Masters, and bachelor’s degrees in architecture from Istanbul Technical University.
SAHARA is a digital image archive developed by the Society of Architectural Historians in collaboration with JSTOR/ITHAKA. Funded by the Mellon Foundation, SAHARA contains over 200,000 images of architecture and landscapes contributed by SAH members. Read more about SAHARA and its team of editors.
