Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Society of Architectural Historians made the decision to cancel the SAH 73rd Annual International Conference, which was to be held in Seattle in April and May, and the event has transitioned from an in-person meeting to a virtual conference. Even though nothing can replace experiencing architecture and landscapes firsthand, guided by local experts and accompanied by knowledgable peers, we invite you to learn about the buildings, parks, and structures of Seattle and the state of Washington online through SAH Archipedia. Explore over 200 entries contributed by coordinators J. Philip Gruen, Robert Redder Franklin, and Thaisa Way, including the Amazon Spheres, the Seattle Central Library, and Freeway Park, to name just a few.

SAH Archipedia is an authoritative online encyclopedia of the U.S. built environment organized by the Society of Architectural Historians and the University of Virginia Press. It contains histories, photographs, and maps for over 26,000 structures and places. These are mostly buildings, but as you explore SAH Archipedia you will also find landscapes, infrastructure, monuments, artwork, and more.
