The Society of Architectural Historians is pleased to announce that we raised $7,370 on Giving Tuesday, which will be matched dollar for dollar for a grand total of $14,740.
The Board of Directors and staff of the Society of Architectural Historians and the Board of Directors of Charnley-Persky House are grateful to everyone who made a Giving Tuesday contribution, including two CPH board members who made the $10,000 matching gift. These funds will greatly assist us in replacing the aging furnace in Charnley-Persky House and preserving the structure of the house.
Replacing Charnley-Persky House's aged and inefficient furnace is one of the top priorities identified in the Conservation Management Plan, completed last fall to assess the structure and guide SAH in planned maintenance and restoration of the house. SAH will be installing two high-efficiency furnaces to provide backup capability in the event one should fail. Replacing the furnace will help prevent the risk of flooding from frozen, broken pipes in the circulating hot-water heating system.
As the steward of this National Historic Landmark, SAH strives to maintain Charnley-Persky House to endure for future generations. The gifts made on Giving Tuesday will have a big impact in helping us do just that
