SAH Receives Tawani Foundation Grant

The Society of Architectural Historians has been awarded a grant in the amount of $20,000 from the Tawani Foundation to support activities related to the Society’s 75^th anniversary. COL (IL) Jennifer N. Pritzker, IL ARNG (Ret), president and founder of the Tawani Foundation, is among the members of the SAH 75^th Anniversary Honorary Committee.

SAH Executive Director Pauline Saliga said, “We are grateful to Col. Pritzker and Tawani Foundation for making this important gift in honor of the Society’s 75^th anniversary. The gift will enable SAH to implement a number of 75^th anniversary activities throughout the year, including a series of three lectures in conjunction with the Chicago Architecture Biennial, sponsoring a talk at the Chicago Humanities Festival by architecture critic, educator and writer Paul Goldberger, as well as plan a commemorative lecture at Harvard University, the place where SAH was founded in 1940.”

The Society kicked off its 75^th anniversary with a celebration at The Rookery during its 68^th Annual International Conference in Chicago. SAH anniversary activities will conclude with its annual awards gala fundraiser that will take place Friday, November 6, at the Woman’s Athletic Club of Chicago.
