Tuesday, May 21st
2:00 PM ET
Virtual Program
Free
The exhibit, What’s New: Telling Transit Stories, at the Transit Museum’s Grand Central Terminal gallery, features new objects from our collection that present a unique perspective on the subway’s origin story and reveal lesser-known stories about transit sites and individuals who played influential roles in the region’s transportation history.
Join museum Curator Jodi Shapiro for a live virtual tour through the exhibit and learn about these acquired artifacts. The display includes an original Wanamaker Department Store 1904 pocket subway map, the first documented public map of the system and design work by Joan Charysyn, who was an integral creator of the iconic 1972 Unimark subway map.
